Development of the Stuttgart Zouk dance scene
The zouk scene in Stuttgart is comparatively young. On the one hand, this is because dances like Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba, Forro or Tango enjoy great popularity and have already been established for many years. On the other hand, around 2016/2017, when Zouk was spreading more and more in German cities, there were very few dance schools and dance teachers in Stuttgart for Brazilian Zouk.
Von 2018 bis 2020 wurde Zouk über den Hochschulsport angeboten, was zu einem starken Zuwachs an Tanzschülern führte. Auch weitere professionelle Tanzschulen begannen Zouk-Kurse für unterschiedliche Niveaus anbieten. Von diesen werden regelmäßig Artists aus der ganzen Welt eingeladen, um ein möglichst großes Spektrum an verschiedenen Tanzstilen und Zouk Events anzubieten.
Among others, Dadinho & Kelly, Michael & Aline, Ilse & Felipe and many other well-known artists have already been in Stuttgart.
Meanwhile, many bachata, kizomba and forro dancers are keen to learn zouk and so the scene is slowly but surely developing from a niche dance into a new mainstay of Latin American dancing in Stuttgart.
